Once you have had a dental implant surgically placed and a healing period has passed, you can see our team to have your implant restored. We’ll affix a crown, bridge or denture to your implant to complete your procedure.
The Modern Solution for Tooth Replacement
In years past, dentures were the standard treatment for tooth replacement. Since the development of dental implants, it has taken over as the most natural-looking and functional solution. The many advantages of dental implants include:
- Easy to maintain since they can be brushed and flossed
- Look and act like natural teeth
- Over 98% success rate
- Restore your bite and facial profile
Are You a Candidate?
The first step in determining if you can have a dental implant is to book a consultation. We’ll examine you to determine if you qualify for treatment. If so, we will refer you to an oral surgeon to have the procedure. Diagnostics such as x-rays will help us determine whether you can have an implant.
Some people do not have adequate bone material in their jaw to receive the implant. If this is the case, we can look into options such as bone grafting to make sure that the implant has the space it needs. We’ll also discuss any medical conditions you might have and whether it’s a contraindication to having a dental implant.
Completing Your Procedure
After your dental implant has been placed by a surgeon, the site must heal. This process can take up to a few months. Once the implant has been accepted into the jawbone like the root of a natural tooth, we can place a crown, bridge or denture on it. If you are replacing a single tooth, a crown will be most appropriate. Multiple teeth can be replaced by bridges or dentures.
